It’s almost here: Money Together arrives in one month!
Here's what you can do to help...pretty please.
We interrupt your weekend with an announcement we can hardly believe: Money Together will hit shelves in just ONE MONTH!
If you subscribe to The Joint Account, then you know that money is more than just money. The ways you approach it reflect your identity, values, and deepest feelings. They are tethered to who you are. And your beliefs aren’t quick to change just because you love someone, which is why navigating money as a couple is so damn hard.
It’s hard for us. As we’ve learned, it’s hard for many of you, too.
We know this book is going to help couples in every chapter of their lives approach money with greater fairness, sustainability, respect, and love. But what happens this October can make all the difference for how far our message can go.
That’s why, we need your help!
Many of you have graciously asked what you can do to support us, so instead of just saying “Aww thanks, we’ll let you know!” like we’ve been doing for the past two years, we wanted to outline some specific things you can do that will help us in very real, tangible ways:
Pre-order Money Together now! As in, today!
Pre-orders signal to the book world (i.e., retailers, distributors, etc.) that there’s an appetite for your book, so let’s show them that we’re hungry for new ways to talk to our significant others about money. If even a fraction of you do this…wow…we will make such an impact on the discourse around household equity. Here’s the link to pre-order Money Together from your favorite retailers.
*BTW, for those who aren’t familiar, Bookshop.org allows you to place an order that supports your favorite local bookstore.*
Become an OG reviewer!
Reviews are EVERYTHING for new releases. If you’re excited to support us, reply to this email and we’ll send you a reminder during launch week so you can leave a quick review.
Invite us to talk about money and relationships!
Do you work for a company, firm, or organization that hosts personal development programming for its employees?
Do you plan content for conferences or panels?
Do you have friends in media or run a platform of your own?
We would love to connect with you (or be connected!) to bring Money Together to life through a workshop, book chat, or other collaboration. Virtual or IRL!
Share with a friend!
Do you know a couple who’d love this book? (tbh…do you know a couple who NEEDS this book?) You can forward this newsletter, share our book website on your social channels, or just order a second book for someone you think would benefit from it. Network effects are real, y’all.
Financial advisors: let’s do this!
We want to help you see things differently for your clients and reframe the way you approach couples sitting across the table from you. This work is for you, too. If you are interested in purchasing books for a cohort of clients or your practice, we can offer you a bulk discount.
Please reply to this email to continue the convo :)
Request Money Together at your local library!
Kindly request they carry our book, so we can bring our message to as many readers as possible.
Readers of The Joint Account, we are so beyond grateful for you. Look how far we’ve come—and how far we still can go—by diving deeper than the numbers on topics that really impact our lives and our loved ones.
Every pre-order, every share, every review creates an impact. Thank you for giving us your time and support.
With gratitude,
Heather + Douglas
P.S. Can you think of anything else we should be doing? Don’t be shy, we only refresh our inboxes 4,000 times a day.
Some upcoming events!
Mark your calendars! Next week, we’re co-hosting two amazing virtual talks:
Monday, October 6, 12pm EST: The Costs of Caring for Those You Love. Join us and our friends at Ellevest for a candid conversation around navigating financial fairness as a couple and as caregivers. Sign up here.
Thursday, October 9, 1pm EST: Estate Planning for Couples. Douglas will join David Meister, CEO of modern estate planning firm Steward, to discuss estate planning for couples and families. All registrants will receive a free copy of Money Together!
Also, though I’m not speaking *this year* (have to manifest for the future!), I’m very excited to be in Los Angeles October 10-12 for Hello Sunshine’s Shine Away event! If you’re planning to attend, LMK. I’d love to connect with you in person!
