The Joint Account's new subscription model
Hi friends,
We’re writing with an important update to The Joint Account.
Since Fall 2023, we’ve published more than 100 newsletters here. We published while interviewing real-life couples and best-in-class experts; while drafting, editing, and launching Money Together; and while seeing our wealth management firm, Bone Fide Wealth, through massive change to support its growth. Throughout all this, we intentionally kept The Joint Account simple. Paid subscriptions were technically available for readers to support us, but we didn’t offer anything for them. To be honest, we didn’t want to overpromise while we poured everything into the other stuff we had going on.
Fast forward to 2026, and this newsletter continues to be our favorite weekly space to start hard conversations, explore current events shaping your lives, and dive into the technical and emotional sides of money. But we need to continue in a way that’s intentional and sustainable for us. So, in order to keep delivering thoughtful, original work every week and expand our offerings, we’re rolling out a tiered subscription model.
Here’s how it will work.
Free subscribers:
You’ll continue receiving our weekly posts in your inbox. That doesn’t change.
After two weeks, each post will move behind a paywall on our site.
Paid subscribers — $7/month or $70/year (two months free):
You’ll have full access to our entire archive (100+ posts on personal finance, relationships, love, parenthood, insurance, jobs, the invisible costs you don’t see coming, and more).
You can participate in our Monthly Ask Us Anything chat.
You’ll receive bonus video content starring Heather, Doug, and guests :)
You’ll be the first eyes on new offerings we’re going to try!
And we’re very excited about this: for the next two weeks, you can sign up for a $70 annual subscription, email us, and we will gift your spouse a one-year paid subscription for free, so you can truly do money…together.
